You Win Some, You Lose Some

The day has come. No more walking intervals in my Couch to 5k Program.

Friday was the first day for that to start and I'm sad to say that I could not make it through the whole 25 minutes without walking a couple times. I don't want to make excuses, but I was just feeling off before and during the run. I had some peppers and dip right before too so I'm guessing that didn't help.

Monday will be a new day. I still finished the work out and ended up getting my best distance so that's something at least. It's all mental. I wish I didn't have to know there's no walking and before I know it I'll be done. It's the knowing that there's no break. No rest. No time to catch my breath and give my legs a minute. I should just keep saying in a Dory voice, "Just keep running, just keep running" over and over in my head.

Other than that little let-down I had a nice week.

Tuesday, Baby D and I headed to NJ for my Dad's Birthday. We met everyone at Clinton Station Diner. My Aunt Irene and Uncle John where there when we arrived. What a nice surprise!! It was great to see them. My half-sister brought her grandson, Jackson, which was a nice surprise too. The two babies were very well behaved right up to the end when it was nap time for both of them and then all hell broke loose. We all ran out of there quick haha.

Yesterday, my childhood friend, Katie and her fiance Chris came over for the day. It was really nice to sit and catch up with them. Getting to know Chris was great and Cam's already planning when we can get together again. Baby D woke up just before they were leaving so I'm glad they got to see him as well.

Today, we will be heading to NJ yet again. Joanne and Meg are hosting a traditional Passover dinner at their house. Neither of us has been to one so we are really excited. I have Baby D's outfit picked out and I can't wait to see him in it. I will post pics in my next blog!

Running Adventures

Friday I did my first straight run.

20 minutes.

That might not sound like a lot to someone who has an easy time running, but for someone like me it's a great achivement. I'm still just in the 11 minute mile, but it's better than nothing!

I'm down an inch on my stomach, which again probably doesn't seem like a lot, but with how stretched out my belly is I'll take it!

Baby has offically found his feet and is obsessed with them! He is just growing up so fast. I'm starting to be able to tell his likes and dislikes and what's going to make him mad and what makes him smile! He's starting to be able to fall asleep on his own. I can put him in the crib while he's pretty much awake (once he starts getting really cranky) and he'll cry a little and I'll watch his head bob around in the monitor and then he'll fall asleep. He's such a good boy!

We had our 1st St. Patrick's Day together yesterday. I was able to put my Pinterest boards to some good use.

We had a nice day at my Mom and Dad's and ate some great food! I'm loving that I finally have the time to make some of my many pinned items on Pinterest. I made Olive Garden's Stuffed Chicken Marsala for dinner on Saturday and it turned out amazing! We ate it so fast that I didn't get a photo of it, but here's what it looked like.

Very yummy! I'm looking forward to making at least two recipes a week. (Saturdays and Sundays are much easier for me to cook big meals because Cam's home). I'll keep posting pictures, as long as I remember to take them!

Here's a couple bonus photos from St. Patty's Day yesterday!

Sick Baby

My Mom came over to help me run errands since it's Cam's Drill Weekend with the Army. We were out and about for a few hours and it was damp and windy. Even though we weren't outside for very long, I think Baby Duncan caught a little cold.

Last night I kept being woken up by his coughing. It didn't seem to bother him, as he kept sleeping. But, every time I was up on my feet to check on him. He "slept" about 10 hours last night and when he finally really woke me up around 6:45, I got up and dressed to get him up. By the time I checked on him again he was back to sleep. (Did I mention that I had all his medicine and bottle made?!)

He's now been asleep for over another 4 hours. I've been able to get the bills paid, checkbook balanced, thank-you cards done, laundry going (plus I organized and packed away all his 3 month clothes because he's in 6 month now!) and I was able to drink my coffee and eat my breakfast in more than one gulp/bite!

I keep checking his forehead and making sure he's still breathing. It is definitely scary to go in there and see his so still and sometimes I tap him a little harder just to make sure he's ok. He felt warm earlier and now thankfully feels a little cooler so I'll just let him sleep it off and then some medicine when he wakes up.

The guys are here again working on the room and they found some more water damage when they removed the insulation from the outer walls from where the roof leaked down. Great. More money to spend. It's good because that room will be completely perfect when they're done, but it's just becoming more and more a pain in the you-know-what! I just hope Baby D will be in his own room before he's 18 haha!!

Distractions

It's been a few weeks since I've had a minute to jump on my computer. Facebook, Twitter, E-mail, they all are viewed on my phone usually. What would we do without the internet on our phones? My computer is in one of the upstairs rooms and I rarely get a chance to sit up there long enough to type.

Today is a good day.

A lot has been happening. I've still on week 5 of my running schedule. With the weather and Cam being sick again last week I ended up having to re-start week 5 and it looks like I might have to again. We are expecting another big storm and since it's already raining looks like I won't be getting out. Week 5 is brutal though so I don't mind completely.

I said last time I posted that I would be wearing my Baboosh and measuring my progress...well that lasted a few days and I couldn't take it anymore. It does work, I will say that, but it's so uncomfortable and you can see it under clothing so you can't really wear it out.

I am, however, doing better in the eating department. Watching my calories, making sure to be snacking on fruits and drinking a TON of water. I've also attempted to complete my ballet video twice now. So far I've only gotten to the floor warm-up...

I went to the doctor because I've been losing a ton of hair (I know it's said to be normal after pregnancy, but this is ridiculous) and they did some blood work and everything came back fine. They said if in 2 months the loss doesn't slow down or gets worse then I need to see a dermatologist. Great.

After the doctor, Baby and I decided to zip over to LVDI and visit the girls! I always love visited them and it definitely makes me miss working (never thought I'd say that). Well, not really the working part, but the people I worked with. We always had a fun time!

Baby D is doing great! He had his Christening on Sunday and he looked so handsome! Thank you again to all of his family and friends that were able to share in his special day, it was amazing. He did really well and didn't cry at all through the ceremony and did well being passed around the party.

And it looks like my time is up...Mommy Duty!!
